Ongoing 0.1.1 Devlog (Updated: 08/31/2023)


Temporary Devlog for following progress: Days Of Despair 0.1.1 “Wild Frontier Update”:

This is clearly the biggest update ever made on this game, expect a huge delay with the current context and situation i’m being involved in but the waiting will worth it.

The reason is simple: The whole game is being reworked from the root to the tip, it’s going to be the Beta now. Also, I’m going through difficult times and it’s hurting both of my motivation and mental health. I’m trying to keep going on since it could be the “thing” that may save me.

  • Full-screen is automatic
  • Exit option is available (No more Alt+F4)

  • Modified some default sounds to custom ones

  • Replaced Affix “Silenced” for “Sub-Sonic”, Affix “Silencer” was already taken.
  • Weapons now appear on the character, showing it entirely
  • Sprint is now available everywhere (Change available in options)
  • Rebuilt parts of the Old District
  • Removed and reworked T1 weapons
  • Hotel level to make it more clear you can breach walls.
  • Breach charge visual effect changed

Removed:

  • Barricades on the West District
  • File Optimization (removed unused files)
  • Rifle Volksgewehr 7.5 (for sensitive political co-notation reasons)
  • Reserve party (Only 5 people, no spare)
  • Triple shot weapons in Tier 1 for balance and ammo economy reasons

Fixed:

  • Darren not talking in the basement when Codex need help.
  • Props being unusable after Codex joined.
  • Black Screen when entering into the Wall Fortress.
  • Weapon Shops now sell weapons with attributes and accessories.
  • Darren appear two times when Codex’s Hide and Seek happen.
  • “Another Me” Quest is easily acquired (No more fetching).
  • Some Sprites where butt-naked.
  • Camouflage Skill play the poisoned animation.
  • English translation as always.

Balancing:

  • Looted weapons durability can now vary from 0 to 200 (max), 0 break the weapon and erase it (Not Legendary ones for the moment.)
  • Balancing of the weapons
  • Balancing of the Enemies
  • Balancing of the Loot
  • Balancing of the Economy

Under Investigation:

  • Lighting keep changing in a weird pattern
  • Some weapon skins doesn’t show when looted (still killing people)
